Who We Are
Our membership is composed of churches dedicated to Jesus Christ located in the southwest metropolitan area and suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts, recognized as American Baptist. The BSW Association facilitates a connectional relationship among its constituent churches, engaging in strategic planning and programming to address matters of Christian concern within our communities.
The Boston Southwest Association is the agency for strategic planning and programming on matters of concern for its churches.
The purpose of the Association is to:
- Promote fellowship among churches.
- Affirm Community held beliefs, provide counsel and assistance to constituent churches.
- Establish structure to help with theological education, and guidance within the ordination process as set forth by TABCOM & ABCUSA.
In short, to do the work that one church alone could not do.
Our Mission
The aim of the Boston South-West Association is to unite Christian Churches of the American Baptist persuasion in a community of Christian concerns for the furtherance of their common mission and transforming souls for Christ.
To be the agency by which the identity and character of American Baptist Churches may be established.
The mission of the Association is for churches to connect, support and assist one another.
Membership
How to Join
Churches interested in joining the Boston Southwest Association can submit a written request for admittance to the Clerk of the Association. Membership is granted following a majority vote by the delegates present and voting at any duly called meeting of the Association, with the purpose of acting on the application stated in the meeting call.
