Tips for developing effective Baptist ministries

Develop a strong spiritual foundation

Spiritual leaders must develop a strong spiritual foundation if they are to develop and grow ministries. Leaders can prioritize their personal relationship with God through prayer, studying God’s Word and cultivating spiritual disciplines (i.e., fasting, fellowship, solitude and worship). Strengthening one’s spiritual growth is crucial in developing and growing ministries.

Fasting – Abstaining from eating (and sometimes drinking) for a period of time.

Fellowship – A community of faith that one can lean on.

Solitude – Spending time alone with God.

Worship – Knowing the glory and goodness of God in one’s mind and then responding to that glory and goodness with one’s heart.

Actively participating in the Association

Participation in the Association can offer pastors and congregations guidance, wisdom and training as they embark on ministry journeys.
